About the event

Newer lawyers in Minnesota are invited to attend the third annual “No Judgment” continuing legal education (CLE) event hosted by the Newer Lawyers Committee of the Minnesota Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.


Participants will have the opportunity to present oral argument on a fictional (i.e. non-legal) debate to either Judge Brasel or Judge Provinzino. For example, the participants in the past argued that peanut butter is a solid that can pass through TSA, that Pop-Tarts are a type of ravioli, and that many of what Minnesotans refer to as “cabins” are properly called “lake houses.” The purpose of this event is to allow newer lawyers to have the opportunity to hone their oral argument skillset in a fun, low-pressure environment, and to receive helpful practice pointers from actual Judges on the Federal Bench. Both Judges will also present briefly and take questions on their experiences with effective (and ineffective)…
