About the event

A detailed agenda is available here.

We are pleased to invite you to the 48th Annual Federal Practice Seminar on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 8:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. The seminar will be in-person at the Hilton Minneapolis. CLE programming will be preceded at the same location by coffee and pastries from 8:15 to 8:45 a.m., and will be followed by a reception from 4:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The Federal Practice Seminar will feature a wide array of outstanding presenters—including judges and experts in a variety of fields—on topics spanning federal civil and criminal practice today, including:

  • Civil discovery ‘Jeopardy!’ (Click here for the answer key)
  • Criminal law and the changing landscape of federal sentencing
  • Supreme Court update, including key cases and takeaways for practitioners
  • Recent updates in water law
  • False Claims Act causation and constitutionality
  • Developments in administrative law
  • AI and fair use
  • Elimination of bias

We are also pleased to announce that the keynote speakers this year are Patty Wetterling and Joy Baker, co-authors of the powerful memoir Dear Jacob: A Mother’s Journey of Hope, published in 2023.

The Hilton Minneapolis is accessible by skyway, with parking also available, and it offers ample space for connecting with colleagues.

Our Chapter is applying to the Minnesota State Board of CLE for 10.0 CLE credits, including 1.0 elimination of bias credits. Please note that the maximum number of total credits attendees may claim for this program is 7 credits.
